The dog flu has returned to the Anti-Cruelty Society here in Chicago, and to say this is a bummer would be an understatement. Dog adoptions are suspended for 3-4 weeks until the virus is contained. While this is hard for the animals, it means even more diligence and work for the staff.
The good news is there are ways to help, without putting your family pet at risk. The ACS is welcoming the donation of hot dogs and liverwurst to help with the administration of medication. Additionally, since the dogs are not allowed out of their cages for long periods of time, raw hides and other time occupying treats are appreciated. More information can be found here.
I’m grateful that I was able to capture the below shots before the flu was prevalent.
The Rescue:
Featured above is Zeus, more on him in an upcoming blog. Below is Blue, a young pitbull mix who smizes like nobody’s business. He is shy in his cage, but once outside in the open, warms right up. He is sleek, powerful and fierce, aka the Beyonce of dogs.
The Runway:
I’m currently obsessed with a good bodysuit and jean combo. It gives that ultimate power feeling that Blue inspires. This bodysuit is from Cotton Candy LA that I picked up at the cutest boutique while out in Napa, I paired the bodysuit with my trusted ripped black Paige jeans and belt from Forever 21. When dabbling with fast trends, I am careful to invest too much money as, you know, it’s a trend. While I despise what Forever 21 has done to the fashion industry, it’s hard to resist a $9 belt.
Cheers,
C
