rescue in style.

Welcome to the new Rescue in Style website! You guys, I’m so excited to launch this new site and I’m so happy you’re here. I’ve got a new website, a new name, a new rescue organization to talk about. I told you I’ve been busy!

Back when I started this project, I wanted it to be a fashion page that would feature adoptable dogs. It was a simple concept and something I loved. But then it grew and my original idea became bigger than clothes and canines, it became a resource. My posts have become articles and my blog has become a website.

While The Rescue Runway was a start, it didn’t encompass everything I wanted to achieve. There are a lot of hopes and dreams that I’ve poured into this new (and improved!) site and I hope it shows. I want to make things easier, connect people and animals. Connect shelters and sponsors. But most importantly, I want to show everyone that second-hand dogs can be first-rate pets.

So I hope you’ll come along with me on this new adventure and be patient while I make this website exactly what it’s supposed to be.  I can’t wait to continue to explore the shelter scene and try to make adoption fashionable for everyone.

THE RESCUE:

Now, onto what I do best. Talking about the cutest pups around town. I was so excited when the owners of SaraRose reached out to me about a little girl named Olive is currently being fostered through Be Fido’s Friend. BFF is an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue organization in Chicago.

Olive is about 7 years old and might be the best-trained dog I’ve ever met. She knows all her commands and is even off leash trained. She was brought into Chicago Animal Care and Control as a stray and was close to the end of her road when BFF pulled her and fostered her. She’s full of love and kisses and is great with kids. She’s also working with one of the best trainers in Chicago to be the finest canine citizen in Chicago. For more information about Olive, click here.

THE RUNWAY:

Two weeks ago, I was up in Traverse City, Michigan and stopped at a store that reminded me so much of Copenhagen. Minimal, simple and cozy and I wanted everything in the store. That’s where I picked up this jacket that I can’t stop wearing. It’s by Six Crisp Days and it’s so perfect for this weather we’re having. Also perfect? These boots. They’re comfortable and I don’t have to worry about them slouching. Plus, they’re on major sale right now for under $150. Can’t recommend them enough! Shop the jacket above and boots below.

xoxo,
